Aileen used to be a non-believer who thought yoga was boring. However, things changed after she took her first yoga class in 2014, when she was based in Yangon. She felt a strong sense of peace and joyfulness after the practice. Unknowingly, it became a love affair and Aileen decided to take up yoga teacher training to deepen her yoga knowledge after relocating back to Singapore in June 2016.
Aileen’s teaching style focuses on getting the basics and alignment right, as they form the foundations for a safe and strong practice. She hopes to help her students discover the peace and inner awareness that one can get from practising yoga, and that yoga is not just about postures. She believes that yoga is for everyone, and we can always workaround to make yoga accessible to all.
Aileen also enjoys teaching yoga and playing with kids, as they somehow always manage to teach her something which adults have forgotten about – to be fearless, to find joy in simple pleasures, and to live in the moment.
